Q: Why is structured cabling more beneficial than traditional point-to-point cabling?
Structured cabling has several benefits for our clients. These include flexibility, simplicity, adaptability, less downtime, and an easy to manage system. Structured cabling can easily be added or moved around simply by adding a new cable for a new device, or by taking an existing device and plugging it into a new location. This saves time on trying to re-route multiple wires or pull new wires across an already-in-place infrastructure.
Q: What types of organizations benefit from structured cabling the most?
Almost all organizations will see the benefit of a structured cabling system. They are simple to install, allow for future expansion, and are easier to troubleshoot if problems in a network should arise.
Q: Do I need Category 6 or Category 6A cable?
Depends on your bandwidth demands, but Category 6 cable will work for most users. If you are running a 10 gig network, you will want to go with Category 6A cable. Contact us to learn more.
